Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that it has been selected by the town of Gypsum in Colorado, to design upgrades for its wastewater treatment plant.
The project will allow for the wastewater treatment plant to maintain compliance with discharge permits under new and anticipated discharge limits. Dewberry’s services will include development of a facility plan to identify the full scope of plant improvements, which will be necessary to meet strict new discharge limits for nutrient removal, expand the plant capacity to accommodate the town’s growth, and replace or upgrade existing infrastructure that is due for life cycle replacement. Following development of the facility plan, Dewberry will complete preliminary and final design for the project. These improvements may include modification and expansion of the secondary treatment process, installation of a new aerobic digester system, replacement of the existing dewatering equipment and support building, and replacement of the existing ultraviolet disinfection system.
“Our team is thrilled for the opportunity to team with the town of Gypsum on this very important project, which is key to maintaining compliance with changing permit requirements and enabling the town’s continued growth,” says Dewberry Project Manager Chad Weaver.
