Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced the promotion of Josh Pedersen, PE, to business unit manager of its Florida transportation group. He is based in Dewberry’s Orlando office.
Pedersen has more than 20 years of experience in program management, project management, roadway design, and traffic engineering, and has served as the deputy business unit manager for Dewberry’s Florida transportation practice since 2023. As the firm continues to engage in infrastructure projects across the state, Pedersen will remain focused on long-range planning, business development, talent acquisition, and client service, statewide. Pedersen is currently managing Dewberry’s design of the Western Beltway widening project north of U.S. Route 192, which includes interchange improvements to Western Way, the access road to Disney World.
Pedersen has managed numerous highway and interchange projects across the state and is experienced in both traditional and alternative project delivery methods. Prior to joining Dewberry in 2023, he served in a variety of owner’s representative roles, including at Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise.
“Josh’s program and project management experience coupled with his technical background have made him a key player in helping grow our transportation practice in Florida and beyond,” says Dewberry Vice President Don Hammack, PE. “His ability to navigate complex challenges has helped our team support the needs of our clients.”
Pedersen received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Central Florida (2003). He is a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE), American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida (ACEC-FL), and is a graduate of the 2023 class of the Florida Engineering Leadership Institute (FELI).
