Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Erica Nelles, AIA, has been promoted to director of operations for the architecture practice. As a senior principal, she is based in the firm’s Fairfax, Virginia, office.

Nelles joined Dewberry in 2017 and previously served as
principal in the firm’s Sacramento, California, office. She brings more than 20
years of experience working with clients in the real estate and commercial
development market, including Local Kitchens, Philz Coffee, Rad Power Bikes, sweetgreen,
and YETI.

“Erica’s ability to win, develop, and manage new clients
has been based on a passion for understanding what will make each one of them
successful while introducing a very broad array of Dewberry services to streamline
the design and construction process,” says Dewberry Architects President David
Huey, AIA, ACHA, LEED AP. “She expertly applies similar critical thinking
skills in her approach to strategic planning, focused on staff and company
growth and is already making exciting improvements in the way we work. I look
forward to working with her in this new capacity as she continues to excel and
grow our architecture practice.”

Nelles earned a master’s degree in architecture from the
University of Florida (2005) and her bachelor’s degree in bio-resource
engineering from Rutgers (2001). She is a member of the American Institute of
Architects.
