Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Joey Duncan, PE, has been hired as principal engineer in its Jacksonville, Florida, office.

Duncan has more than four decades of experience in the
public and private sectors. He formerly worked for JEA, as well as served as
the director of public works for the City of Jacksonville, where he was
responsible for vertical and horizontal public infrastructure across 840 square
miles. In his new role with Dewberry, Duncan will focus on the construction and
delivery of water and power infrastructure.

“Joey’s decades of applied engineering and construction
knowledge of public infrastructure are a tremendous asset to our expanding
Florida water practice,” says Dewberry Senior Associate and Water Market
Segment Leader Amy Tracy. “The One Water approach is most likely to increase
community water resilience when a multidisciplinary team identifies sustainable
water opportunities, which we’ll be better-suited to provide for our clients on
a small and large scale, with the addition of Joey.”

Duncan earned a master’s degree in engineering
management from the University of South Florida (1993) and bachelor’s degree in
civil engineering from Clemson University (1981). He is a member of the
American Public Works Association (APWA), First Coast Manufacturing Association
(FCMA), and Rotary International.
