Submitted by Ditesco, the City of Evans Wastewater Treatment Plant project was awarded Best Project in the water/ environment category. Dewberry provided water/wastewater engineering services for the design of the plant in Evans, Colorado.

The Kettle Creek flow control valve design-build project in Colorado Springs was submitted by Garney Construction, Inc. and earned the Best Project award in the specialty construction category. The Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado, won the Best Project award in the residential/hospitality category, submitted by Mortenson. The project also received a merit award in the specialty construction category, submitted by Encore Electric. Dewberry provided site/civil engineering services for the design of the 1.9 million-square-foot facility. The $857-million project was completed in 2018 and includes 1,500 hotel rooms and multiple restaurants.

“We are very proud of the entire team of talented and dedicated engineers and designers who put in tireless effort to create the designs for these projects,” says Dewberry Vice President and Business Unit Manager Sean O’Connell, PE. “Colorado attracts a large number of visitors and new residents each year and we’re proud to help our municipal and private-sector clients design and construct these critically important projects to support this regional economic development and keep the aging critical infrastructure operating at a high level of service.”
