Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Casi (kay-see) Callaway has joined the firm as a senior client relations manager. She will be based in the Daphne, Alabama, office, and will support environmental and resilience projects, contributing to strategic growth in risk, response, recovery, and resilience efforts along the Gulf Coast and broader southeast region.
Callaway has over 30 years of experience in environmental advocacy, including more than five years in resilience and sustainability efforts for local governments. Her expertise extends to environmental policy, hazard mitigation, capital improvement, and community engagement. Prior to joining Dewberry, Callaway served as chief impact officer for a non-profit centered on sustainability and resilience, supporting nearly 150 local governments across 10 southeastern states. In addition, she served as chief resilience officer for the City of Mobile, Alabama, the first in the state’s history to hold this role.
“We are excited to welcome Casi and her specialized expertise to the firm,” says Dewberry Senior Associate Hannah Hart, PMP. “She brings extensive stakeholder engagement, environmental policy, and comprehensive planning experience to our vast portfolio of projects.”
Callaway earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and human and natural ecology from Emory University (1991) and is anticipating the completion of her doctorate of philosophy in environment and society from the University of South Alabama in 2027. She currently serves on the Blue Frontier Advisory Committee, the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium Advisory Council, and the Waterkeeper Alliance Leadership Circle. Callaway holds leadership roles working with the chief resilience officers for the Ten Across Community of Practice, and was co-chair for the National Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine’s Communities, Climate Change, and Health Equity Workshop on flood adaptation.
