Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Peter Davis, PE, has joined the firm as a market segment leader in the transportation group, based out of the Bloomfield, New Jersey, office.

Davis brings over 40 years of experience in the construction, inspection, and design of rail bridges, rail yards, lock and dam machinery, and other heavy infrastructure. Before joining Dewberry, he supported the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as a consultant in a $120-million Cross Harbor Freight Program and managed the team responsible for 11 separate design and construction projects. He has also led projects for NJ TRANSIT, MTA Metro-North Railroad, and MTA Long Island Railroad, as well as for Class 1 freight railroads. In his new role with Dewberry, Davis will focus on growing the firm’s transit and rail services practice.

“Peter brings with him a strong background in bridge and rail construction, design and maintenance across a broad range of infrastructure projects impacting critical transit and rail systems in the Northeast,” says Dewberry Executive Vice President Craig Johnson, PE. “He will be a tremendous asset for our clients as they continue to address state-of-good-repair (SOGR) and system expansions.”

Davis received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (1972) and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering (1974) from Clarkson University. He is a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-way Association Committee 10 and is a past secretary and board member for Heavy Movable Structures.
