For over a decade, our firm has supported the Colorado Flood Threat Bulletin, a publicly accessible website that provides daily assessments of threats from thunderstorms, general rain events, or snowmelt. The site features heavy rainfall forecasts with associated flood threats, stand-alone fire burn forecasts, statewide precipitation maps, flood threat outlooks, and streamflow tracking.

The Colorado Water Conservation Board selected our firm, in partnership with another consulting firm, to provide daily statewide updates to the Flood Threat Bulletin, Fire Burn Forecast, and State Precipitation Map. The project also includes twice-weekly updates to the Flood Threat Outlook and monthly updates to the Streamflow Tracker. We integrate our collected data sets into a GIS-based platform that hosts county-specific weather and flood forecasts. With this centralized website and database, stakeholders can easily stay informed of flood risks in their area, enhancing public safety.

The Colorado Flood Threat Bulletin runs from May 1 to September 30 every year in conjunction with the state’s flood season. During this time, we consistently provide updates to the daily products, even on weekends or holidays.
