The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Engineering Innovation Building for the College of Engineering houses three engineering departments, allowing for expanded curriculum and the only high-bay structural testing lab of its kind in the Chicago area. Our firm provided project management, programming, concept development, architectural, interiors, furniture, and technology design services to create this state-of-the-art building.

The 57,500-square-foot Engineering Innovation Building is designed with reinforced structure to mitigate vibration from lab to lab and from exterior interference, supporting highly advanced experimentation. The building includes research laboratories,
computational laboratories, departmental offices, and the four-story high-bay space for structural materials testing. This laboratory sits on a six-foot-thick reinforced concrete slab and features a 30-foot-high reinforced concrete reactive wall.
